Why no Women? Removing Barriers to STEM fields

Dr Fiona Hoyle is originally from the UK but has lived in the Americas for over 20 years. She has a Ph.D. in Astrophysics and worked as a researcher at leading Universities. When she moved to Ecuador, education became her passion. Having been the only female in her A-Level Physics and Further Maths class and only 15% female in University Education, Fiona has always been interested in why there is such a low participation of women in STEM fields. In this talk, Fiona will discuss some of the barriers to female participation in STEM but also what can be done to encourage more young women to enter exciting STEM fields.
